Images by Matchbook Magazine, issue no. 22.
So, have you read the new Matchbook issue yet? I think my favourite feature this issue was this fabulous soirée that has me tempted to throw a festive party laden with candlelight and fresh blooms, and filled with the sounds of champagne popping, laughter and chinking crystal.

P.S. Don’t the lovely ladies look so chic?

Am looking forward to hosting a high tea for some girlfriends while watching the royal wedding tonight – fluffy scones dripping with homemade jam and cream, pretty dresses, delicate sandwiches, lots of teas to choose from and perhaps a glass (or two) of celebratory champagne …

Are you intending to watch?

The Alice in Wonderland birthday party over the weekend was lots of fun! We made heaps of pompoms, ‘eat me’ tags attached to toothpicks, ‘drink me’ tags to tie around the stems of glasses with the drinker’s name, and arranged flowers in tea cups. There were fairy lights everywhere and an amazing mad hatter cake made by my co-birthday girl.

Jam tarts in the shape of teapots, cupcakes with fruity icing, madeleines, macarons (chocolate and mint and white chocolate and lavender – our first attempt!), mini honey roasted pumpkin, spinach, fetta and rosemary quiches and homemade sausage rolls were munched on while guests drank fruit punch.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Two beautiful inspiration shoots from the fabulous Style Me Pretty provide more ideas for the upcoming Alice in Wonderland birthday party. Especially love the florals and cards in the first set, and the clockiness of the second (also, that sensational hat the bride is wearing? Perfection.).

And the fabulous third shot? The party that went with those fabulous invitations I posted about last week by Jag Nagra. Simply adore the costumes – it looks like so much fun!

Am in full planning swing for an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party, so I thought I’d post some of the lovely images that are inspiring our soirée – particularly love the playfulness and colour in the top series of photos, but also adore the whimsy and elegance of the bottom series.

More to come tomorrow!

Bonjour!

Have been having a fabulous couple of days off, and one of the things I’m really enjoying is planning for a joint birthday party that I’m sharing with a lovely friend. And guess what the theme is (hint: the title of today’s post might help)? Alright, you guessed it, you clever person: Alice in Wonderland.

These are some lovely images of a beautiful Alice in Wonderland invitation suite, created by Jag Nagra – I just love the colours, typography and unpredictableness of it! It looks like lots of fun, don’t you think?
